Miss Tootsie Snyder was crowned Blue Moon’s next drag superstar last night during the Miss Blue Moon pageant.
Tootsie was in good company in the top three with Miss Dixie Surewood and Bebe Beretta. There were nine competitors total for the night: Tootsie Snyder, London Chanel, Bebe Beretta, Miss Dixie Surewood, Bambi Deerest, Amneeja Schnackenmuff, Cindy Crochford, Claudette Sheree, and Scarlet Fairweather.
The theme of the night was dubbed “Camp BM,” and the night had three portions–presentation, gown with a question and answer session, and talent (you can see the gown and presentation videos below). All contestants did extremely well in each category, so when the final three went up to the stage, it was a nail biter to the announcement of who snatched the crown.
For talent, Tootsie performed a mix that highlighted Carmen Miranda’s “The Lady in the Tutti Frutti Hat,” complete with her own costume and tutti frutti hat similar to that of the original classic.
The rest of the top three also did well in talent. Dixie’s campy mix highlighted a number of weather-related songs and spoken word while Bebe performed a mix that included “Pretty Hurts” by Beyoncé and “Thick Thighs” by Willam and Latrice Royale.
The reigning Miss Blue Moon 2015 Alora Chateaux hosted the night’s festivities while Kitty Klottsalot, Lola Lecroix, Marsha Monster Mellow, Cherri Baum, and Blue Moon owner Andy sat on the judges panel.
